Style 4 Hourglass

In the late 1920s Weissenborn advertised his Style 4 as " Entire body - top, bottom and sides - made from specially selected and beautifully marked Koa. Fingerboard of specially selected Koa with extra fancy position marks, fretted with white Holly. Edges of top and bottom of body, also fingerboard, neck and head, completely surrounded with rope binding, and rich marqueterie around soundhole. A magnificent instrument of the most beautiful finish and appearance, and tone of wonderful quality and carrying  power. Depth of body, 3 inches".

Built in the old school Hawaiian Style, My Style 4 is patterned from a late 1920s original (small bridge, large wing Ca.1927) Style 4 - down to the finest detail. Exceptional quality air dried Koa wood with classic Rope marquetry in Holly and Brazilian Kingwood. Hide glue construction throughout. Proprietary hand mixed and applied nitrocellulose lacquer finish without any modern primers or fillers. Like the late ‘20s original, it is designed constructed to be light but still solid, and setup to have the most musical and lyrical voice possible.

The Koa graded for the Style 4 model is a rich amber color, with beautiful figure in the late 1920s style. A Style 4 SUPER DELUXE is also available in the classic mid 1920s specifications and style. Please inquire.
